The Sally Challenge

It’s back! After a break of three years, The Sally Challenge returns to the West Highland Way with a new start point, new challenging route and amazing new charity to support.

The Sally Challenge is a charity duathlon in aid of the charity, So Precious. In memory of Sally McAllister who passed away from bowel cancer on 27th December 2011, this year’s Sally Challenge is the sixth installment and the one where we aim to break through the £100K fundraising mark.

Sally loved the first Sally Challenge and the number of people who turned out to raise money for an amazing cause. Although the benefiting charity may have changed this year, Sally would definitely have approved of the amazing work that goes in to So Precious.

The Challenge is Sally’s legacy.

Saturday 25th August 2018,
1100 hours

The Sally Challenge is a charity duathlon (bike and run) raising funds for the charity, So Precious. The charity is dedicated to raising funds to support Neonatal, Maternity and Paediatric Services within Forth Valley NHS.  They believe that every child’s experience of NHS Forth Valley should be swift, informed and successful.  The charities aim is for parents to realise that the facilities are available, equipment and resources are current and advanced in their diagnostic abilities and that So Precious work closely with NHS Forth Valley to achieve all of this.

Starting at the Beech Tree Inn participants will jump on their bikes and cycle approximately 15 road miles before returning to the Event Village where they will change into trainers. A 10K on the West Highland Way and a leg-sapping hill later, and runners will arrive back at the Event Village.
