Bespoke Treks & Challenge Events

Speak to the team

Work with us to create a unique challenge for you, your team, organisation, charity

Breaking Strain specialises in delivering bespoke adventure trips, challenge events and treks for individuals, charities, corporate teams and organisations looking to create something truly memorable.

Rather than joining a scheduled event, a bespoke challenge allows you to design an experience tailored entirely to your objectives. Whether your goal is a personal bucket list adventure, fundraising, corporate engagement, team building or bringing people together through a shared adventure, our team will work with you to create a challenge that delivers real impact.

From Arctic expeditions and mountain climbs to UK-based endurance challenges, Breaking Strain manages the entire process from concept to delivery. We take care of planning, logistics and safety so you can focus on your participants, supporters or the experience itself.

What Can a Bespoke Challenge Offer Your Organisation?

Every organisation is different. Charities have unique causes and supporter networks, while corporate teams may have specific engagement or Corporate Social Responsibility goals. Individuals may be driven by personal milestones, life goals or once-in-a-lifetime adventures.

That is why we take a consultative approach with every client we work with.

We start by understanding your objectives, supporters or personal goals and ambitions. From there we develop challenge concepts that align with your goals and create an experience participants will remember long after the challenge has finished.

If you already have an idea in mind, we can help bring it to life. If not, our team will develop a range of concepts for you to explore.

Ownership

With a bespoke challenge, you have full ownership of the event.

You can shape the destination, story and purpose so it aligns with your organisation or personal ambitions and resonates with your ambitions and your supporters.

For charities this could mean visiting a location linked to your work. For corporate groups it may involve creating corporate challenge events that strengthens teams while supporting the Corporate Social Responsibility or fundraising goals. For individuals, it could mean designing a bespoke adventure trip that achieves a personal goal or lifelong ambition.

You remain in control of branding, messaging and fundraising targets, while Breaking Strain manages the planning, logistics and delivery.

We work closely with every organisation and individual we support, building long term partnerships based on shared goals.

Following your initial brief, we develop a selection of challenge proposals and itineraries. Together we refine the concept to ensure it fits your objectives, vision, supporter base and budget.

How Bespoke Treks & Challenge Events Work

Step 1 – Define Your Challenge

The first step is deciding what kind of challenge will work best for your organisation, yourself as an individual, and participants. We work with you to understand your goals, whether that’s team building, fundraising, brand engagement, personal achievement or a combination of all. From there we design a challenge that fits your timeline, participants and level of ambition.

Popular options include:

  • Trail running or endurance events
  • UK based adventure challenges
  • Overseas trekking expeditions
  • Multi day team challenges
  • Charity fundraising adventures
  • Bespoke adventure trips designed for individuals

Our team will help shape a challenge that suits your organisation or personal goals and delivers a memorable experience.

Step 2 – Design the Experience

Once the concept is agreed, we work with you to design the structure of the challenge.

Some organisations choose a fully bespoke experience created exclusively for their team, supporters or partners. Individuals can also create fully bespoke adventure trips tailored entirely to their goals. Others prefer to place participants into one of our existing events or treks while still building a team experience around it.

We support you with:

  • Event and route planning
  • Logistics and safety management
  • Training guidance and preparation
  • Participant communications
  • Charity fundraising support (if applicable)

The aim is to create a challenge that feels exciting, achievable and well organised from start to finish.

Step 3 – Structure Participation

The final step is deciding how participants will take part and how the challenge will be funded.

Depending on the type of organisation or individual challenge, participants may choose to cover the cost themselves or take part as part of a fundraising initiative.

Common approaches include:

Self-Funded Participation
Participants cover the cost of the challenge themselves and may fundraise additional money for a chosen charity. This is a popular option for individuals undertaking bespoke adventure trips.

Fundraising Challenges
Participants pay a deposit while the remaining costs are covered through fundraising, often organised through a charity partner.

We’ll help you structure the challenge in a way that works best for your organisation or personal journey and participants.
