Arthur’s Seat, where the city meets the great outdoors; an icon of Edinburgh loved by the locals as an escape from city life, as well as by visitors to the city keen to tread on the well-worn paths to the top, where blustery selfies are taken and memories are made. Shaped by a volcano over 300 million years ago, Arthur’s Seat, its accompanying hills and Holyrood Park are the stuff of legend; of warrior kings, knights, ghosts and hidden cities.

Now it’s your chance to be part of the history as this July, starting on Saturday 14th we bring you Edinburgh 24; a 24-hour loop race around Royal Holyrood Park. The spectacular route will take you below the rocky summit of Arthur’s Seat, through the parkland and give you views over the entire city as well as the Pentland Hills and Firth of Forth, as you race to complete as many laps as physically possible. Take on this epic challenge alone, or share the experience in a pair, or as of part of a team of 4. However you decide to tackle it, we guarantee you an incredible experience and sense of achievement.

In fact, we know how amazing this experience will be and we want everyone to be able to take part in it and this is why we have also created a 6-hour and 12-hour version, both of which can also be done individually, as a pair, or why not lighten the load and do it as part of a team? Yes, it will be a challenge, but 6 hours split between you and three of your friends or colleagues means you only need to be able to run or jog for 1 and a half hours and that is with plenty of breaks in-between as you wait for your team mates to do their laps. During this time you can make the most of the Edinburgh 24 event village, where refreshments will be available around the clock and where you can cheer on the other runners who we know will be glad of the support!

At the end of the race, whichever one you decide to take on, you will receive an exclusively designed event medal, race t-shirt and will be able to go home with a huge sense of achievement and we are sure a deeper connection with this incredible part of the city. Robert Louis Stevenson called Arthur’s Seat "a hill for magnitude” and Edinburgh 24 is your
opportunity for this.

Sign up now to take part in the 6-hour, 12-hour or 24-hour race and be a part of something awesome, in this legendary part of Edinburgh.
