Alps Trek 2025 in aid of finding your feet
Finding Your Feet support families affected by amputation or limb absence through a range of sporting initiatives and social inclusion projects designed to positively affect both physical and mental wellbeing. Isolation is a huge problem for many amputees. It has been proven that quality of life and even life expectancy is greatly reduced without social inclusion, with as many as 30% of vascular amputees not surviving to one-year post amputation.
Breaking Strain first worked with Finding Your Feet back in 2018 where Cor Hutton successfully summitted Kilimanjaro. In 2025 FYF are taking on another epic overseas trip this time visiting the Alps. By joining the trek you'll be helping FYF directly address the issues highlighted above. They are directly saving lives.

Payment
The full cost of the trip is £2100 which includes an initial non-refundable deposit of £350 which secures your place on the trek. The cost includes flights, transfers, hotels, food and guiding on trail.
One of the Breaking Strain team will be in touch to arrange payment after you have submitted your registration form.
Instalments
£1750 paid in instalments directly to Breaking Strain. Instalment dates are:
- £550: 36 weeks prior to the trek
- £600: 24 weeks prior to the trek
- £600: 12 weeks prior to the trek
Fundraising
Finding Your Feet have set a minimum fundraising amount of £1000 for this trek. FYF will be in touch to set up a fundraising agreement with you once you've registered with Breaking Strain.
Kit Requirements
There is an expectation that you will provide all your own clothing and your sleep system for the trek. You will be given a comprehensive kit list on sign up which includes all the equipment you will need to successfully undertake this challenge.
Travel Insurance
You are recommended to purchase travel insurance at the time of, or shortly after, booking. You are responsible for ensuring that all activities you undertake during the trip are covered by your insurance policy. This policy should include helicopter evacuation to 3000 metres and also include a force majeure extension. If you have an insurance policy provided by your bank you may need to provide your account number and sort code instead of a policy number - contact your insurance provider for details.
Breaking Strain require your 24 hour emergency assistance telephone number. This can be found within your insurance policy wording document under ‘what to do in an emergency’, ‘emergency medical assistance’, ‘useful telephone numbers’ or similar.
