Arctic Trek - It's Good 2 Give - 2025
2025 will be the 8th year that we've run treks to the Arctic Circle - starting with our first trek back in 2015 for It's Good 2 Give. It's also our 14th year of working, playing and racing in the Arctic after taking part in some iconic winter races including the Yukon Arctic Ultra, Arrowhead 135 and Rovaniemi races over 150 and 300kms. Thanks for your interest in our treks.
5th - 10th February 2025 (inclusive of travel days)
The full cost of the trip is £2400 which includes an initial non-refundable deposit of £350 which secures your place on the trek. The cost includes flights, transfers, hotels, food and guiding on trail.
Payment is direct to Breaking Strain. One of the Breaking Strain team will be in touch to arrange payment of your deposit after you have submitted your registration form.
£2050 paid in instalments directly to Breaking Strain. Instalment dates are:
- £650: 36 weeks prior to the trek
- £700: 24 weeks prior to the trek
- £700: 12 weeks prior to the trek
It's Good 2 Give will ask you to complete a separate fundraising agreement for the trek. This is set as a minimum of £1000 for each participant.
Breaking Strain will provide the pulk, hauling system, snowshoes, tents and any cooking equipment required for the duration of the trip.
There is an expectation that you will provide all your own clothing and your sleep system for the trek. You will be given a comprehensive kit list on sign up which includes all the equipment you will need to successfully undertake this challenge. Sleeping bags and down jackets represent a large expense so these can be hired directly from BSE and collected in-country. We'll also have a select range of gear to buy from us at a discounted rate. These items have been tested in the Arctic and are proven to work in the conditions.
You are recommended to purchase travel insurance at the time of, or shortly after, booking. You are responsible for ensuring that all activities you undertake during the trip are covered by your insurance policy. This policy should also include a force majeure extension. If you have an insurance policy provided by your bank you may need to provide your account number and sort code instead of a policy number - contact your insurance provider for details.
Breaking Strain require your 24 hour emergency assistance telephone number. This can be found within your insurance policy wording document under ‘what to do in an emergency’, ‘emergency medical assistance’, ‘useful telephone numbers’ or similar.
